MSW Program - Admission Requirements |
| The school will admit those individuals with the greatest potential for completing the master's degree course of study and becoming effective social work practitioners. A successful applicant must present evidence of the capacity to do graduate-level work as reflected in past academic performance and human service practice experience. The school is committed to recruiting applicants who represent the diverse populations within Colorado and the region. |

Regular Two-Year Program |
| The following are the minimum requirements for admission to the regular, full-time program: |
- A four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
- 18 credits in social and behavioral sciences including the following:
- statistics
- human biology
- human life cycle development covering the life span
- 9 credits in any combination of the following courses: sociology, psychology, economics, political science, anthropology, or history. These courses must be completed and transcripts received by the first day of classes.
- 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale). Occasional exceptions may be made if applicant demonstrates ability to successfully complete graduate-level work. PLEASE NOTE: THE GRE IS NO LONGER REQUIRED.
- Prospective applicants are required to have a minimum of 450 hours of verifiable human service work and/or volunteer experience before admission. Approximately 25-30 full-time and part-time students are enrolled in the CSU-Fort Collins on-campus program each year. The advanced standing class will consist of 20-25 students.

Part-Time Program |
| There is a limit of 5-6 part-time students admitted each year. The part-time program takes three years to complete. During the first two years, students attend classes one full day per week, either Monday or Tuesday. The final, or concentration, year requires full time enrollment. |

Colorado Springs MSW Program, Distance Education |
| Colorado State University, School of Social Work will be admitting a new cohort of MSW students in January 2009 in Colorado Springs. Applications will be made available March of 2008. Applications will be due August 1, 2008. Admission decisions will be announced by August 31, 2008. |

Advanced Standing Program |
| The advanced standing program is for applicants who have graduated from an accredited undergraduate social work program within the past 7 years. Advanced students enroll during the summer for three courses, then go directly into the concentration year. |
| The following are the minimum requirements for admission to the advanced standing program: |
- Four-year undergraduate degree in social work (within the last 7 years) from an accredited BSW program
- 3.0 overall grade point average
- 3.0 grade point average in social work courses
- 1200 hours of supervised human experience (internship, paid and/or volunteer), within the last 7 years
