Field Agencies |
The Matching Process |
| Students have an opportunity to explore potential agency field opportunities by viewing agency information supplied to the School of Social Work by our field agencies. Information collected in the Agency Profile Questionnaire and Commitment Form is transferred to the Social Work data base, allowing for electronic access on the web. Hard copies of agency information, and any additional information provided by agencies, is available to interested students through the Social Work office. The content submitted by field agencies may not reflect the most current available field placement opportunities. This information should be viewed as a starting point for exploration into field possibilities. Students will be given additional information through their interview process with the Field Education program. |
| |
| After a review by the faculty advisor, students submit field placement application and resume to the Field Education office. Students interview with either the director or assistant director of field education. In this interview the student's experience, interests, learning goals, and agency or setting preferences are discussed. |
| |
| Students contact the selected agency to interview with the field instructor for consideration as an intern. This interview gives the students a more accurate understanding of what the placement will entail. Upon agreement between the agency and the student, the placement is finalized through the signing of the Field Placement Acceptance Contract by the field instructor and the student. The contract shall then be returned to the Director of Field Education. |
