| Meet Clorinda Salazar, a senior at Colorado State University who is majoring in Social Work. | |

Q: What brought you to CSU?
A: When choosing from all of the possible universities, it came down to location. I visited Fort Collins and found it to be one of the most beautiful places in Colorado. I also got a very warm reception from the advisors and their genuine support really made CSU a home away from home.

Q: Why did you choose to major in Social Work?
A: The support and guidance that I received from the School of Social Work faculty and staff greatly motivated me to choose Social Work as a major.

Q: What has been your favorite Social Work class?
A: It was SOWK286, a class that was taught by Eleanor Downey and Pam Bishop. This class provided me with the stepping stone I needed to truly get a feel for the career path of a social worker. The nine month commitment required by the class allows students to connect with one another and build strong relationships.

Q: How would you describe the students majoring in Social Work?
A: Each student brings their own type of diversity. We learn from one another and help each other out along the way. I have been fortunate to find a high level of acceptance and support from the faculty, staff and fellow students in the School of Social Work. I have made many life long friends.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
A: If you don’t want someone to know what you’re doing, then you shouldn’t be doing it.
